VERMONT KIN AS PARENTS
known as VKAP,
is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting kin who are raising relative children.

VKAP :

assists in the development of support groups for Kinship caregivers and the children in their care.

Organizes annual kinship care conference.

Offers resources and referral services to caregivers; and

Educates public and private agencies about the issues faced by caregivers and their families.


VKAP's staff and volunteers are available to help you:

Navigate your way through the multiple systems that

exist to help children and families;

Figure out the right questions to ask;

Deal with the difficult emotions you may experience when you assume the role of primary caregiver for
relative child; and

Connect with kinship caregivers who have experienced similar issues as well as support groups through out
Vermont.
